HR Compliance Compass is a SaaS platform that translates complex, constantly changing state and federal employment law into plain-English answers โ instantly, for every state you operate in. It includes 11 purpose-built tools covering everything from manager talk tracks and complaint investigations to FLSA exemption testing and handbook policy generation. Think of it as your always-available HR compliance expert, without the retainer fees.
HR Compliance Compass is built specifically for two people: the solo HR professional who is the entire HR department at their company, and the small business owner who handles HR themselves without a dedicated team. If you've ever spent an afternoon digging through government websites to answer a single compliance question, this platform was designed for you.
Employment law data is monitored and updated continuously. When a state passes new legislation, updates a regulation, or issues new agency guidance relevant to employers, the platform is updated to reflect it. High-activity states like California, New York, Illinois, and Colorado are reviewed with particular frequency. You will always see current law โ not last year's version.
No โ and we will never tell you it is. HR Compliance Compass provides HR reference and compliance guidance based on publicly available law and regulation. It helps you understand what the law requires, identify your obligations, and document your decisions. For complex or high-stakes situations โ litigation, EEOC charges, significant severance negotiations โ we will tell you directly when you need an employment attorney.
All 50 states plus federal law. Every tool on the platform is built to account for state-specific requirements, not just federal baselines. If you operate in multiple states, you can filter results and checklists by the states that apply to your workforce. States with high legislative activity โ California, New York, Illinois, Washington, Colorado, Massachusetts, and others โ receive the most frequent updates.
Both plans โ Solo HR Pro and Small Team โ include access to all 11 tools: Tough Conversations, Decision Helper, Complaint Investigation Guide, Handbook Builder, Interview Guides, Performance Guidance, FLSA Exempt Status & Duties Test, Compliance Checklists, Future of Work & AI, Compliance Wizard, and FAQs / Knowledge Base. The plan tiers reflect team size, not feature restrictions.
Google gives you 10 blue links to government PDFs, legal blogs from 2019, and forum posts that may or may not apply to your state. HR Compliance Compass gives you one clear answer, written specifically for your situation and jurisdiction, with the source citation so you can verify it. It also gives you the documentation trail โ decision summaries, checklists, policy language โ that Google never will.
